Job description
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to carry out inspections of mechanical works on assigned construction sites, ensuring all installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The successful candidate will support the site supervision team in monitoring contractor mechanical works throughout the construction process to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in mechanical inspection on construction sites.
- Good knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and fire-fighting installation standards.
- Experience reviewing mechanical shop drawings and material submittals.
- KSA experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect mechanical installations, including HVAC, plumbing and fire-fighting systems, for compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Review contractor method statements and material submittals for mechanical works.
- Witness testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Identify and record non-conformances, following up on corrective actions with the contractor.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, checklists and photographic documentation.
- Coordinate with the Resident Engineer and design team on mechanical technical queries.
- Support the verification of mechanical materials and equipment against approved specifications.
- Monitor contractor compliance with health and safety requirements during mechanical works.
